Self Care September

Self Care on the beach

Whew, it has been one hell of a month. September is self care month, but I didn't have too much of it. For me, I like to think of self care as doing absolutely nothing because on a regular I am always doing something lol. But I recently realized that self care can be just about anything and varies for each individual.

Since the pandemic hit, my business picked up and I have been in go mode for well over 6 months. Constantly going the stores, standing in extended lines, then standing on my feet for hours baking began to take a toll on my body. Due to business picking up that meant back to my bad habit of not eating, not meal prepping and choosing to sleep and catch some type of relaxation instead of exercising. (Facepalm). All bad shit!

As I self reflect, I realized what I need to work on, what I need to enforce in my business and this would be my self-care. Well apart of my self care plan.

Here are some things that I am going to implement to ensure that I take care of self:

1) Change my mindset on self care. Decluttering is self care. Reading is self care. Exercising is self care. Blocking people on social media is self care. Ending pointless relationships is self care. Choosing not to argue is self care. And I have to take care of self first and foremost because I can't pour from an empty cup.

2) Enforcing my closed days for my business. Those are the days I need to meal prep and do a mental and physical reset. No more answering phone calls, emails, meeting clients, none of that.

3) Hire an assistant to help me with my day to day, week to week tasks. Doing it all by yourself isn't smart or effective. Many business owners think that hiring an assistant or employees mean spending more money. Granted it does, however you have to spend money to make money. Delegating tasks will help to free up some of my time, and take stress off of me mentally.

4) I'm going to outsource when possible. For example, utilizing services such as Instacart or Walmart curbside pick up. Utilizing these services allows for more time to be spent doing something else.

These four things I am planning to implement going into Quarter 4 will allow for my Q4 to be as successful as possible. It is going to free up so much of my time and allow me to utilize my time more wisely.

What are some things you do for self care? Are you planning to utilize some of these tips? Let me know, comment down below.

As always affirm the life you want, create the space for it to be, and you'll manifest it.
